Description

Fuze is a Sky Original, London-set heist thriller directed by David Mackenzie, in which the discovery of an unexploded Second World War bomb in the heart of the capital triggers a mass evacuation, creating the perfect cover for a meticulously planned, high-stakes robbery led by a diamond expert. Set against the backdrop of a city in lockdown, the film unfolds in real time, interweaving the escalating emergency response with the execution of the heist itself, as tension builds between order and opportunism. Starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Theo James alongside Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Sam Worthington, Fuze expands the scale of the genre by using the geography and infrastructure of London itself as both obstacle and opportunity.

The Aerial Film Company contributed helicopter aerial cinematography to Fuze, supporting the film’s essential sense of scale, urgency, and citywide choreography as the evacuation unfolds and the net tightens around the central characters. Operating our AS355 camera helicopter equipped with the SHOTOVER K1 stabilised system, we delivered smooth, cinematic aerial imagery across a range of complex urban environments, from wide establishing shots that situate the unfolding crisis, to precise, low-level tracking work that maintains tension and continuity within the film’s narrative. With Phil Arntz serving as Aerial DOP and Will Banks at the controls, the aerial unit worked in close collaboration with the director and production team to ensure the aerial sequences integrated seamlessly with the ground photography, enhancing both the spectacle and storytelling of the film.

Abi Hensby, our operations manager coordinated low level filming permits in congested areas to enable the creative team to execute their vision. In collaboration with the drone unit by The Helicopter Girls, we set-up and executed a seamless helicopter to drone one shot, starting the viewers journey over the city and ending in a close-up in the heart of the action.
